Welcome to our LAB facility deep
in the heart of
New York's Catskill Mountains!!!.
PhytaCell Technology was born to humble beginnings in 1996
in Willingboro, NJ. Like many TC labs it all started at home with a
bedroom converted to a culture room and one small laminar flow hood.
The original plan was to work on rhododendrons but fortunately the head
overruled the heart. I listened to nursery owner's needs and cut my
teeth on heucheras instead. I still listen to my customers and it has served me well. I still haven't touched a rhododendron
yet except in my own back yard.
The lab grew and 2 years later we moved to a rented
facility in an old barn...just like many other labs. There we
expanded the business to include a diversity of crops both food and
ornamental, including asparagus, cranberry, pine, hydrangea, and ginger.
In the fall of 2004 we made the jump
into hyper-space and moved the whole shebang up to the gentle, mountains of Delhi, NY.
But this time we built or own facility the way we wanted it. Of
course you always have to build it twice to really get it the way you want
it but that is another story. On breaks from subculturing we enjoy watching water fowl skim the surface of the Delaware River's West Branch and from our window
we have a perfect view of
Fitch's Covered Bridge. We are located not far from Woodchuck Lodge,
retreat of the famous 19th century naturalist, John Burroughs and Hanford
Mills Museum where an awesome working water wheel shows visitors how
things used to be done. Historic Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall
of Fame are but an hour away but best of all, I have a huge yard just
aching to be filled with plants of all kinds, shapes and sizes!!!!!
Of course it's ZONE FOUR here!!!!! Send your plants to be cold trialed to
ME!

Happy Growing !
